How much does app development cost?

A professionally developed app realistically starts at around 15,000 euros for a clearly scoped MVP, 30,000 to 60,000 euros for a mid-sized app with a backend and user accounts, and from 80,000 euros for complex apps with many integrations. Scope, backend and maintenance drive the cost, not the platform choice.

Flutter or React Native?

Both deliver iOS and Android from one codebase, and for most business apps the difference is smaller than the internet claims. Our rule of thumb from practice: Flutter when the app stands alone and needs pixel-perfect, fast UI. React Native when your team already works in the React ecosystem and web and app should stay close in code. We run both in production and advise based on your case, not our favourite technology.

And the third option app agencies rarely mention: no native app. If your audience will not open the app regularly, a fast web app with home-screen install is often the more economical answer. We check that first.

A clearly scoped MVP is typically in the App Store within 8 to 12 weeks; mid-sized apps take 3 to 6 months. Budget realistically for App Store review: the process can trigger follow-up questions from Apple and rarely takes under a week. We plan for it from day one.

Flutter or React Native – which is better?

For most business apps: either carries. Flutter shines for standalone apps with heavy UI; React Native when your environment already speaks React. We have shipped both to production and choose based on your team, your integrations and your budget, not ideology.

Do I need an app at all, or is a web app enough?

The honest counter-question: will your audience open the app weekly? If not, a fast web app is usually the better investment; native strengths like offline operation and push only pay off with real usage frequency. That is exactly what we check in the initial analysis, before you spend app budget.

Do you take over existing apps?

Yes. We start with a technical audit: codebase, dependencies, backend, store accounts and crash reports. You then know what is sound, and we take over maintenance and further development regardless of who built the app.

What does ongoing app maintenance cost?

Budget roughly 15 to 20 percent of the development cost per year: OS updates from Apple and Google, security updates, store requirements and smaller improvements. An app without a maintenance budget eventually drops out of the stores or crashes on new devices; it belongs in the calculation from day one.
